Los Angeles, CA – April 3, 2025

On a night meant to celebrate Shohei Ohtani’s greatness, the two-way superstar gave fans something even more memorable than a bobblehead — a walk-off home run that electrified Dodger Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves in stunning fashion, 6-5, with Ohtani crushing a solo homer to center field in the bottom of the 9th inning. The dramatic swing not only sealed the Dodgers’ eighth consecutive win to start the 2025 season but also capped a historic comeback from a five-run deficit.

A Game of Momentum Swings

The Braves jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead early in the game, silencing the crowd. But the Dodgers’ offense chipped away, starting with a two-run homer by Tommy Edman and a solo shot by Michael Conforto. By the 8th inning, Max Muncy’s clutch two-RBI double tied the game at five apiece.

Then came the moment.

With one out in the bottom of the 9th, Ohtani stepped into the batter’s box to face Braves closer Raisel Iglesias. On the very first pitch — a 96 mph fastball — Ohtani launched a towering drive over the center-field wall, sending the stadium into a frenzy.

A Night to Remember

April 3rd had already been designated as “Shohei Ohtani MVP Bobblehead Night,” with over 50,000 fans in attendance. The timing of Ohtani’s heroics couldn’t have been more perfect.

“Someone in the crowd yelled, ‘It’s your bobblehead night, you better hit one!’” Ohtani said after the game with a grin. “So I did.”

Looking Ahead

Ohtani’s walk-off homer is his second home run of the season, and his first as a Dodger at home. He is now batting .333 with 7 RBIs in the first eight games of the season. The Dodgers, now 8-0, are off to their best start in franchise history and show no signs of slowing down.

Their next game is scheduled for tomorrow night, again at home against the Braves.
