Planned Final Activity: Spring 2026 Concert Tour
A Storm That Shaped an Era
Since their debut in 1999, ARASHI — meaning “storm” in Japanese — has been more than just a boy band. They have become a cultural icon, shaping two decades of J-pop history with chart-topping hits, sold-out tours, drama appearances, and unparalleled fan loyalty both in Japan and abroad.
On May 6, 2025, ARASHI made a heartfelt announcement through their official fan club: following a final concert tour scheduled for Spring 2026, the group will officially end its activities.
A Journey from Hiatus to Farewell
ARASHI initially announced a hiatus that began on December 31, 2020. The decision was led by group leader Satoshi Ohno, who expressed a desire as early as 2017 to step away from the entertainment industry and live freely. After extensive discussions among the five members, the hiatus was confirmed.
During the hiatus, each member pursued solo careers in acting, music, and hosting. Despite being apart, the bond between the members remained intact.
In the recent statement, the group revealed:
“About a year and a half ago, we started meeting occasionally. We discussed what it would mean to return as ARASHI, and after much reflection, we decided to conclude our activities with one final tour.”
This concert tour will serve not just as a farewell, but as a celebration — a final opportunity to thank the fans directly, especially after the pandemic deprived them of in-person performances in their final year of activity.
A Message of Gratitude
ARASHI’s message to fans was filled with appreciation:
“Our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who has supported us for over two decades. We want to create a space where we can say thank you, face-to-face, with as many fans as possible.”
The announcement struck an emotional chord, sparking a wave of nostalgia and gratitude across social media platforms. Fans worldwide responded with messages of love, using hashtags like #ありがとう嵐 (#ThankYouArashi) and #ArashiForever.
Legacy and Impact
With more than 40 million records sold, countless awards, and performances from Tokyo Dome to New York’s Central Park, ARASHI’s impact transcends entertainment. They symbolized unity, kindness, and perseverance — becoming role models for generations.
Their decision to conclude on their own terms, with dignity and clarity, reflects the sincerity that has defined their career.
Looking Ahead
While ARASHI’s journey as a group may end in 2026, the individual members are expected to continue their respective paths in entertainment. Fans remain hopeful that their bonds will someday lead to reunions — on stage or in spirit.
As the sun sets on the ARASHI era, one thing is certain:
Their storm may settle, but their legacy will never fade.
